The Itch

So you've been natural for time now. You've experimented with ever style under the sun, twists, braid, fro-hawk,  you've straightened it a time or two. And after all of that all of the a sudden your hair just seems blah. The twist outs that you once love have seemed to lost their "umph" Not to say that you don't love your hair but your just not as in love as you to be with it. Sadly enough I've reached the seven year itch. I'm at that place with my hair. Normally at this point and time I would be reaching for somebody's hair dye, but as I mentioned earlier I'm trying to make an effort not to dye my hair. So what do you do to fall back in love with your hair?

A few short months after my bc,naturally in love!!
  1. The first thing I'm going to do is go back to my staple products- I've been trying to branch out and try new product but unfortunately those products have not done my hair any justice.
  2. Trim my ends- You can fall in love with your hair if it doesn't look it's best. When it comes to my ends, I've completely dropped the ball. Split ends, single strand knots, you name it I've got it.
  3. Adding some flare- I've gone through the phase where I wore my hair out all the time. Now I've gotten stuck in a rut, I wear the same three styles all the time(all which are variations of buns.smh). Time to hit Youtube and find more inspiring style. Things that are a little bit outside of my comfort.
  4. Pay attention to my hair- As of lately, I've just been throwing my hair in a bun and keeping it moving. Even when I washing, I'm just going through the motions as a pose to actually looking at my hair.

So from this day forward I do swear to give the my hair the attention and appreciation it deserves. Has this ever happened to you? How do you show you love your hair? Share your thoughts.

Peace,
Danielle
