Blonde Ambitions: Progress

So I finally did it, I dyed my hair. It's been 7 months since the Creme of Nature let down and this time decided to step it up in a major way. Instead of using box color I used Clairol Professional Soy4Plex Liquicolor Light Red Brown(color 4R/45R) and pair it with Clairol Professional 30 Cream Developer. I originally wanted to use L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red Fire and their developer, like researched but the beauty near my didn't have those products. But instead of putting off dying my hair I just switched brands and hoped for the best. My hair already had a reddish color on the ends from dying it late last October.

I was super nervous about the entire process; the mixing, the applying, just everything. To ensure I got the right measurements for the color, I bought a mixing bowl with measurements. I also bought an  application brush just to make things go smoother, even though half way through the application I kinda stop using it.lol The worse thing about the process was definitely the smell!!! OMG the smell!!!! It smelled like straight up ammonia. I seriously wished I had no nose when I was putting the color in my hair. Absolutely the worse smelling dyeing life. After applying the color I covered my hair and let it sit for little over 45 minutes. I rinsed it out then deep conditioned it. For the deep conditioner I used the Organix Argan Oil Treatment and  Hask Henna 'N Placenta with Olive Oil.

It took, the color actually took!! Success, finally!!!! Although it's not a major bright red, its lighter than my natural dark brown color and a lot warmer. I focused most of my attention on the length of my hair and not so much the roots, so there are some parts of my hair. Since I my hair has been now chemically treated it will be a while until I straighten it, I may straighten it for my birthday. But until then I'll be very delicate with my hair, lots of protective styling, lots of deep conditioning and lots of moisturizing. I don't have the exact shade of red that I want but it's definitely a step in a right direction.

This is my new hair goal as far as hair color
