Winter Laziness: Twists Pt.2

I recently got lazy with my hair again, and decided to twist my hair. Unlike like my twist during the summer, these were bigger and I used different hair. Last time I used kanekalon hair and time I used marley hair, which I liked a lot more. Since the marley hair is more textured it blended well with my blow dried hair.
The Hair:
The hair I used was Freetress Equal Marley Braid(color 4) from BlackHairSpray.com. Having not worked with marley hair before I wasn't sure how much I would need, so I order five packs. I didn't like that I had to pay $10.00 in shipping and handling but it did arrive really fast. I order on the 9th of January and got it on the 11th.

The Prep:
Before the putting in the twist I washing using Carol's Daughter Purifying Low-Poo Cleanser. I washed twice, focusing on my scalp, I wanted my hair to be really clean knowing I had to apply direct heat when blow drying my hair. Next I deep conditioned with Miss Jessie's Super Sweetback Treatment(product review coming soon). Once I rinsed out the conditioner I sprayed Tresemme's  Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray(this made my hair super soft!!!). I let my hair air dry for about 30minutes before I began blow drying. This was first time using my new Conair Yellowbird blow dryer I got for Christmas. Blow drying my hair went a lot faster than with my old blow dryer.

The Process:
Marley hair comes already cut into "locks"(for lack of a better word.lol) this made it so much easier. I didn't have to cut the hair to the length that I wanted, separate the hair for each twist, or stretch the hair. My head was divided into four sections. In each section I made about 11 twists, totaling 46 twist in all. It took me about three and half hours to twist my entire head and 3 packs of hair(I only used a little bit of the third pack). This time I twisted from the root instead of starting out braiding to secure it then switch to twisting. It was very tricky and some twist I had to retest before I took them out.

The Results:

I really liked how they turned out. Everyone thought this was all my hair.lol. What styles have you been rockin' this winter?
Peace,
Danielle
